D. Joseph English is a senior intellectual property attorney with more than twenty-five years of experience in advising technology companies in the acquisition and litigation of intellectual property rights, including extensive experience in complex patent litigation and post-grant proceedings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Joe’s handles all aspects of patent disputes. He has served as litigation counsel in patent infringement lawsuits in federal courts throughout the United States. Joe has also represented clients in 100+ post-grant proceedings before Patent Office, in cases involving patents across a myriad of technologies. Joe’s experience also extends to appeals, as he’s garnered affirmances of numerous district court and Patent Office decisions at the Federal Circuit.

Joe joined LexArx from Duane Morris LLP, where he was a partner in their intellectual property group for over twenty-four years. Before entering private practice, Joe served as a nuclear submarine officer in the United States Navy. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and received his law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
